“miracle” was written and mostly recorded in 2025/26, on Jeju Island, South Korea, in Hawk’s small studio overlooking mandarin orchards, ancient stone walls, and the deep, endless blue ocean. Winston Hauschild contributed amazing engineering and production genius plus bass and guitars from the tranquil forests of Bowen Island, Canada, among towering firs and moss-draped branches. Andy Kravitz recorded delicious drums and funky percussion at Studio 4 West on the sunlit California coast in Venice Beach, and in his cozy farmhouse studio in vibrant Philadelphia.

“Miracle” was engineered, produced and mixed by Winston Hauschild on Bowen Island, BC Canada.

All songs mastered by Elisa Pangsaeng, CPS Mastering, Vancouver, BC Canada.

          ♫ Backstory ♫

Sitting by the ocean a warm summer evening on Bowen Island, off the coast of Vancouver, watching the sun set with our dear friends, we meandered through memories and dreams, speaking honestly about what it means to truly live. As twilight deepened, Paul lifted his glass, his voice gentle but sure: “Here’s to the here, the now, the miracle.” The words resonated – simple, profound, utterly true. I carried them home with me that night and  their echo became a poem.  Months later, travelling the quiet countryside of South Korea with our good friend Meg, we found ourselves in a humble cottage. There, tucked away in an old shed, stood a battered upright piano, keys worn and out of tune. I sat down on the rickety bench with the poem in my hand as my fingers searched the keys.  The chorus found its way to me—and in that moment, this song was born.

          ♫ Backstory

It’s impossible to live a life without affecting others, both in positive and negative ways.

How many ill-advised words have I spoken, or encouraging words left unsaid? How many actions that unintentionally hurt others, or actions I should have taken but didn’t, can be contained in one life? I don’t know. But many.

No doubt, most of us try to be good. Try to be kind.   And even then, there are times I wish I had done things differently—been more patient, more generous, more loving. Times I wish I had offered empathy instead of criticism.

So I began thinking about forgiveness and the power of forgiving.

When we forgive, we let go. As His Holiness the Dalai Lama teaches us about forgiveness: “Learning to forgive is much more useful than merely picking up a stone and throwing it at the object of one’s anger, the more so when the provocation is extreme. For it is under the greatest adversity that there exists the greatest potential for doing good, both for oneself and others.”

To forgive

To ask for forgiveness

To let the tide carry away what no longer serves

We Are A Little Crazy - Video and Lyrics

We Are A Little Crazy (Hawk)

Hawk:  Lead Vocals, Harmony Vocals, Grand Piano, Bass, Keyboards

Andy:  Drums and Percussion

          ♫  Backstory ♫

A song about heading out into world.  After a lot of packing,  donating, simplifying, saying farewell to friends and family, we just left.   It’s a  little crazy but we want to just live and be in the world.  So much to see.  So many places to go.  I want to move with the wind, wake up and eat weird fruits for breakfast, smile at laughing children amazed by my freakish height, fall asleep in new cities where I don’t speak the language, eat delicious foods and have no idea what I’m eating, hold hands with my love on beaches, country roads, mountain hikes, ocean trails, crowded marketplaces, write poetry on napkins in local coffeeshops, be amused at traditional festivals, dances, immerse myself and disappear into culture, just be and enjoy each moment gifted to me.

Sky! Show Us Heaven- video and lyrics

Sky! Show Us Heaven (Hawk/Garry Fletcher)

Hawk:  Lead Vocal, Harmony Vocals, Keyboards, Piano, Bass

Winston:  Acoustic Guitars

Andy:  Drums and Percussion

          ♫  Backstory ♫

My friend Garry wrote a gorgeous poem called Far and Wide (see next song) with this line “Sky! Show Us Heaven” which struck me so hard.  As I often do, I sit down at the piano and just start playing.  The melody and song emerged, almost intact – a poetic meditation on love, loss, healing, and hope, with the ocean and sky partnering as symbols for emotional depth, release, and the search for something eternal.

Far and Wide - video and lyrics

Hawk:  Lead Vocal, Harmony Vocals, Piano, Keyboards, Bass

Winston:  Acoustic Guitars, Electric Guitars

Andy:  Drums and Percussion

          ♫  Backstory ♫

“Far and Wide” is meant to be an uplifting anthem about transition, presence, and the journey of love.  Ultimately, it’s about facing new beginnings hand in hand, grounded in love, and open to all that the world and future hold, including both joy and pain.  Thank you Garry for this beautiful gift of poetry.

Celebrate - Video and Lyrics

          Things I Don’t Know (Hawk)

Hawk:  Lead Vocal, Harmony Vocals, Piano, Keyboards.

Winston: Guitars, Bass and Drum Programming

          ♫  Backstory ♫

I was looking up a Greek god of some kind the other day and started thinking about how much I actually don’t know.  I mean, how to make butter?  How to knit?  How to fix a broken radio?  Let alone how to make a mobile phone or a laptop?  How to identify stars in the sky?  After living half a century, you’d think we’ve gotten lots of things figured out.   But I was humbled by how little I actually know.  And I think that’s probably true of most of us.  The world is so big and there’s SO much to know along with so many questions.  So, I thought I’d ask a few of them in this song!

Need You Now - Video and Lyrics

         Need You Now (Hawk)

Hawk:  Lead Vocal, Harmony Vocals, Piano, Keyboards

Frank Bry:  Bass

Andy:  Drums and Percussion

          ♫  Backstory ♫

At 17, I left Sweden for Oregon and a new life as a ‘foreign’ student and eventually a global citizen.  It opened up my eyes to the wider world and made me realize how many ways there are to experience life and interact in it.   My perspective was no longer obvious nor ‘right’.  In the early days, I was lost and longed for the comfort of home, the familiar anchor of existence.  “Need You Now” is a plea for retreating back into the familiar, the known, the safety of home.

We Did Alright - Video and Lyrics

         We Did Alright (Hawk)

Hawk:  Lead Vocal, Harmony Vocals, Piano, Keyboards,

Winston: Bass, Electric and Acoustic Guitars

Andy:  Drums and Percussion

          ♫  Backstory ♫

I was reflecting on my life and the story my love and I have built together.   It’s an amazing journey we’ve taken. I adore every step, every challenge and every beautiful adventure.  So this song is a celebration of everything we’ve accomplished, all the laughter (and tears) we’ve shared.  May the light we’ve brought into this world amplify.

Today - Video and Lyrics

      Today (Andy McMaster)

Hawk:  Lead Vocal, Harmony Vocals, Piano, Keyboards

Winston: Bass, Electric and Acoustic Guitars

Andy:  Drums and Percussion

          ♫  Backstory ♫

A favorite song from my youth that seems ever relevant. The Motors “Airport” was an amazing hit in Sweden and inspired a lot of my harmony vocal writing over the years!  So, “Today” seemed like a good song to remind us all that “if we think of it, this world could fall in love, and live the kind of life we only dream about”.

You Are Everything To Me - Video and Lyrics

You Are Everything To Me (Hawk)

Hawk:  Lead Vocal, Harmony Vocals, Piano, Keyboards, Bass

Andy:  Drums and Percussion

          ♫  Backstory ♫

The penultimate love song.  Of all the tunes I’ve ever written, this one feels the most “me”.  Uncompromisingly  honest and true.  You really are everything to me!
